If a US citizen acquires property in Singapore under the FTA agreement and later renounces US citizenship before selling it, what are the stamp duty implications for the sale?
The liability for Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (ABSD) is determined at the point of purchase.
Seller’s Stamp Duty (SSD) may apply if the property is sold within the specified holding period.
