What will happen if my Re-Entry Permit (REP) is expiring and my passport has not been renewed?
If your passport is expiring and you are in Singapore, you can continue to reside in Singapore as a permanent resident (PR). It is advisable for you to obtain a new passport as soon as possible and thereafter apply to renew your re-entry permit (REP) or transfer your valid REP online. Please note that a passport must have at least 3 months validity in order to make an REP application online via the e-Service. You may submit your REP application after you have received your new passport.
If you are outside Singapore and your passport and re-entry permit (REP) is expiring, it is advisable for you to obtain a new passport and thereafter apply to renew REP online as soon as possible. Please note that a passport must have at least 3 months validity in order to make an REP application online via the e-Service. If your REP has expired, you have to apply for an REP within 180 days from the date you are first physically outside Singapore without a valid REP to retain your PR status. The REP application is subject to approval on a case-by-case basis.
