You are considered a Singapore citizen after you have successfully completed your registration. If both parents are not Singapore citizens at the time of child's birth, the child will not be a Singapore citizen even though he/she is born in Singapore. This confirmation will be indicated in the child's birth certificate issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, Singapore. The status will not change even when the parent subsequently becomes a Singapore citizen.

You can refer to Becoming a Singapore Citizen for more information on Singapore citizenship application for your child. You can log in to the ICA e-Service or MyICA using your Singpass should you wish to apply to register your child for Singapore citizenship.
