What is the difference between the staging site and the production site?

The staging site is a test environment for admins to explore AskGov's features and test out setting up their site, while the production site is meant to be the official site for the public to see. Agencies that are fully onboarded onto AskGov will typically have a production site set up with all the key AskGov features implemented.

Both staging and production sites are public, but can be set up to have restricted access so only specific users can access them. Generally, the public will be unlikely to come across the staging sites.

*Important note: As the staging site is not synced with the production site, agencies who have both sites are recommended to make any public changes on the production site directly.
