How will I be able to identify a legitimate gov.sg SMS message?

Updated by GOVSG 6 found this helpful

There are some key indicators that can help you identify a legitimate gov.sg SMS:

• The SMS will show gov.sg as the Sender ID, with all the letters in lowercase.

• The SMS will begin with the full name of the government agency or service that sent the message (e.g. Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, or Singpass)

• The SMS will end with the standardised footer of 'This is an automated message sent by the Singapore Government.

Furthermore, all gov.sg SMSes will appear one after another in a single conversation, instead of separate conversations.

If any of these indicators is missing, please report the message immediately using this form: go.gov.sg/report-sms
