Why will Platform Workers CPF Transition Support (PCTS) cease in 2029?
Platform Workers CPF Transition Support (PCTS) is meant to offset the increase in the platform workers’ share of CPF contributions in the transition phase as platform workers’ CPF contributions are gradually aligned with that of employees over five years. In 2029, when platform worker’s CPF contributions are completely aligned with that of employees, PCTS will cease.
Eligible lower-income platform workers can tap on the Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) instead, where platform workers will receive higher WIS payments at the same level as employees from 2029, once their CPF contribution rates fully align with that of employees. They will also receive a higher proportion of WIS payments in cash – 40% compared to 10% today.
