Do airlines need to apply for a permit to carry cargo consignments of Munitions of War (e.g. rifles and guns) not classified as dangerous goods and without any ammunition?
Airlines are not required to apply for a permit from CAAS for the carriage of munitions of war not classified or containing dangerous goods. Under the Arms and Explosives Act of the Singapore Police Force, a licence is required for shippers or consignees who wish to export or import arms and ammunition from or into Singapore. For more information, please refer to the Arms & Explosives licence page on the Singapore Police Force website.
