I am a Singapore licence holder but am intending to pursue my career overseas. The foreign licensing authority has requested a letter from CAAS to authenticate my Singapore licence. What is the process to get such a letter and how long will CAAS take to respond to the request?
To get a letter from CAAS
Step 1: Contact the foreign licensing authority
Tell the foreign licensing authority in the country about your work details and inform them that they need to write to CAAS directly to verify your Singapore licence.
Step 2: Foreign authority emails CAAS
The foreign licensing authority must send an email to: licence_verification@caas.gov.sg
Step 3: Required information in the email including
● Your full name (as shown on the licence)
● Type of licence CAAS issued to you (e.g., ATPL, CPL, PPL)
● Your licence number
● Name and email address of their contact person
Important: You cannot request this letter yourself. Only foreign licensing authorities can make this request to CAAS.
CAAS will send the verification letter directly to the foreign licensing authority, not to you.
Processing time:
Straightforward requests: 3 working days
Complex cases that require additional verification by CAAS: Up to 15 working days
