Does SMF cover the cost of maintenance and repair of devices?

Updated by AIC

The Seniors' Mobility and Enabling Fund (SMF) is a co-payment scheme. The applicant needs to top-up the balance and pay for the cost of maintenance and repair of the device.

If your SMF device is worn out, you may be able to apply for SMF to subsidise a replacement*.

Here is the list of devices covered under SMF, and their device blackout periods (ie a defined period of time before it can be replaced).

If you are applying for a subsidy to replace your SMF device that has been worn out, do note that:

  • Not all the items above are currently covered by SMF for replacement.

  • If your device is eligible, the item must have met the device blackout period (BOP). There are different BOPs for different categories.
