Can I continue to practise veterinary medicine?
Yes. You may continue to practise veterinary medicine as long as you hold a valid AVS veterinary licence (‘Licence to Treat Animals and Birds’) and comply with its licensing conditions.
The registration framework under the Veterinary Practice Act is set to commence at a later stage. More details will be shared on what existing AVS licensed veterinarians need to do to be registered under the SVC and apply for a PC, closer to the commencement of the registration framework.
