How can I help my supervisee find a job?

Updated by SPSVCO

Employment is an important protective factor that supports successful reintegration into the community. Stable employment provides financial independence, promotes structure and routine, enhances self-esteem, and creates opportunities for supervisees to develop positive social networks and life skills. These factors can strengthen desistance from crime and reduce the risk of reoffending.

We can support supervisees by understanding their employment needs, identifying barriers to employment, and connecting them with appropriate employment services, training opportunities, and community partners. Depending on the supervisee's circumstances, support may include career coaching, skills upgrading, job matching, financial assistance for job search, or referrals to specialist employment agencies.

This table provides some list of employment resources, referral pathways, and organisations that can support supervisees in securing and sustaining meaningful employment.
