What are some interest groups that my supervisee can join?
Successful reintegration extends beyond securing employment and accommodation. Participation in positive community activities can play an important role in helping supervisees establish healthy routines, develop pro-social relationships, and build a meaningful, crime-free lifestyle.
Interest groups provide opportunities for supervisees to pursue constructive hobbies, acquire new skills, improve their physical and mental well-being, and expand their social support network. Engagement in such activities can strengthen protective factors by reducing social isolation, increasing community connectedness, and encouraging positive use of leisure time. These factors contribute to sustained desistance from crime and support successful reintegration into the community.
This directory is intended as a resource to identify suitable interest groups and community activities that match a supervisee's interests, strengths, and rehabilitation goals. Referrals should be made based on the supervisee's individual needs, motivation, accessibility, and readiness to participate. By connecting supervisees with meaningful community-based activities, we can support the development of pro-social identities, enhance community integration, and reduce the risk of reoffending.
