What is PIVOT training?
Prison Volunteer Training (Pivot) is a generic SPS Volunteer Training that provides,
An understanding of Singapore Prison Service’s rehabilitation approach and correctional landscape, including key statistics and throughcare principles;
Comprehensive training and development pathways for volunteers, equipping them to support inmate rehabilitation and reintegration through accredited courses and community networks;
Practical guidance on delivering programmes and engaging in pro-social activities, empowering volunteers to build rapport and facilitate positive change for inmates.
It is compulsory for VCOs to complete PIVOT before case assignment commences.
Existing SPS Volunteers who have completed PIVOT before becoming a VCO should inform the VCO Planning Team . VCOs who completed PIVOT a long time ago and are uncertain if attending PIVOT is necessary, kindly contact the VCO Team as well for clarification.
