Would inmates be briefed upon their admission?
When inmates are admitted into prison, they will be briefed and oriented on the routines, rules and regulations. All inmates are also seen by the Prison Medical Officer (PMO) upon admission. The inmate can inform the PMO on any medical conditions, medical appointments, medical memo and medication that is necessary for the PMO's assessment. The inmate will be informed that they can report sick to the PMO should they feel unwell.
Upon admission, the inmate will be asked to declare a family member who is the next-of-kin and the residential address, so that the Letter of Notification can be sent to the declared next-of-kin.
