What if I am unable to find the doctor on the Register?

Updated by SMC

Sometimes, doctors may use a different name when they register with SMC, i.e. different from the name they are commonly known by. Do check with them what name they have used for registration. Alternatively, you may ask for their medical registration number and search the Register using it.

If a doctor’s name does not appear on the Register, it may indicate that the doctor does not hold a valid PC. You may wish to check SMC’s Published Grounds of Decision webpage to find out whether the doctor’s practice has been suspended for a period of time, or whether his/her name has been removed from the Register.
