Do I need to seek approval if I wish to tear down my property to rebuild a new house, carry out reconstruction or make additions and alterations to the property?

Yes. If the works will be carried out after the 5-year non-disposal period and requires the Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) approval and the Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) or Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC) is issued upon completion of the works, you have to apply for approval to carry out the works by submitting an online application. A non-refundable application fee is payable.

Please visit the BCA website for more information on the proposed works.
