Who can be an eligible donor?

Below are the criteria taken into consideration when selecting a living donor. Prospective donors should: 1. Be between 21 – 60 years old 2. Share a compatible blood group to the intended recipient (to indicate if blood group compatibility is unknown. Non compatible blood group transplants can be explored for selected cases) 3. Have an acceptable BMI between 18.5 - 30 (Potential donors with BMIs >30 will be assessed on case-by-case basis) 4. Have no major health issues or previous major surgery.
