Some medical conditions may mean it is not suitable for you to be placed on the transplant waiting list, for example:
Previous heart attacks or serious heart disease
Stroke
Cancer
Severe obesity (BMI > 35)

Some of these conditions can improve or be reversed (for example, losing weight).
If your condition improves, you may be reassessed and added to the waiting list later.
Each patient's case is assessed individually by the medical team.
