As part of a comprehensive assessment, the speech therapist will speak with you to gain a better understanding of your concerns and factors which may affect your child’s development. The speech therapist may use formal or informal assessments involving play-based materials during the session, depending on your child’s age and stage of development. The assessment results will be discussed with you. There will also be an opportunity to discuss treatment options available as well as your expectations of treatment.
