How is language delay treated?

Updated by SGH-AHPEDIA

For young children with language delay, therapy usually involves a speech and language therapist working with parents or caregivers. Parents are taught strategies to help their child communicate and learn language. Therapy works best when parents are the ones doing it because parents know their child best, and parents can create more opportunities for language learning at home in the child’s natural environment, compared to a clinic setting.
