How is language delay diagnosed?

Updated by SGH-AHPEDIA

Language delay is diagnosed by a speech and language therapist. There is no physical test for language delay (e.g. brain scans or blood tests). Diagnosis is made based on formal or informal language assessments, observations and parental reports. Comparison is made with known norms of milestones locally and internationally.
