Do I need to prepare anything for my X-ray appointment?

Updated by SGH-AHPEDIA

Most X-rays require very little preparation:

What to wear: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes without metal zippers, buttons, or decorations. You may need to change into a hospital gown.

What to remove: All jewellery, watches, glasses, dentures, and metal objects from the area being X-rayed.

Eating and drinking: Usually no restrictions, unless specifically told otherwise.

What to bring: Your referral letter, identification, and insurance information.

For some special X-ray examinations, you may receive specific preparation instructions beforehand.
