Immediately after the procedure:

  • Most fluoroscopy procedures have no immediate side effects

  • You can usually resume normal activities right away

  • If you had sedation, you'll need someone to drive you home

If you had contrast material:

  • Drink plenty of water to help flush it from your system

  • You may experience mild nausea or a metallic taste (this is normal and temporary)

  • Rarely, some people have allergic reactions to contrast

Possible risks (rare):

  • Minor bruising or soreness at injection sites

  • Allergic reaction to contrast (if used)

  • Very small radiation exposure risk

When to contact us:

  • Severe or persistent pain at the procedure site

  • Signs of allergic reaction (rash, difficulty breathing, swelling)

  • Unusual symptoms that concern you

Follow-up:

  • Your doctor will receive the results within a few days

  • Continue any medications as prescribed

  • Follow any specific post-procedure instructions given to you
