If a protection order is granted, the victim may also request that the court order the harasser to undergo psychiatric treatment if a mental condition contributed to the offending conduct. Before an MTO can be issued, the harasser must satisfy the requirements under the POHA and key parts of the assessment are conducted by a psychiatrist.
