If you are absent from a CMC without any reasonable excuse, the registrar may continue with the proceedings and make a default order against you. There are two types of default orders which can be made in this case: If you are the Claimant who fails to attend court, a default dismissal order may be made against you. This means that your claim has been dismissed.

If you are the Respondent who fails to attend court, a default money order may be made in favour of the Claimant. This means you will have to pay the Claimant the sum of money stated in the order by the due date, failing which the Claimant may start enforcement proceedings against you.
