A deputy is legally obligated to act in P's best interests, making decisions about personal welfare, healthcare, or property and finances based on what P would have wanted. Where the Order of Court provides that a certain act be done within a specified time frame, such action must be taken as ordered. Deputies must also keep records, avoid conflicts of interest, and may be required to report to the Office of the Public Guardian.
