The family conference session is usually held if there are multiple parties involved in cross or connected applications. The session will be facilitated by one or more Court Family Specialist (CFS). The CFS will:
• Assist you and your family member(s) to understand more about the matters of the PPO application.
• Seek to address any safety concerns: the CFS may make necessary referrals to the appropriate community and support agencies if necessary.
• Assist you and your family member(s) reach a resolution on the PPO application, if deemed suitable. If you and your family member(s) are able to reach a resolution on the application, a hearing will not be needed for the case.

At the family conference session, the CFS may decide to see all parties in a joint session or individually subject to the nature of the case, and the dynamics between parties involved.

During the family conference session, you or your family member(s) may:
• Take the opportunity to clarify with the CFS any concerns or questions that you may have regarding the PPO application.
• Take up the necessary referrals that the CFS may assist in, if necessary.
