My family/friends wish to send me food items via parcel from overseas. How do I calculate the limits for mixed food items?

Products under the different food categories are allowed as long as they are within the prescribed limits and from approved sources. You need to check every food type separately and the examples below will show if the parcel meets all requirements:

S/N

Food Items

Total weight

Within allowed limit & value

Approved sources

Meet the requirements

1

Beef jerky + Canned mutton curry from Malaysia

4kg

Yes

Malaysia is not an approved source of meat

No

2

Canned tuna

3kg

Yes

All countries/regions

Yes

3

Canned drink (2 litres)  + 2 boxes of biscuit (1kg)  and the total value is less than $100

2 litres + 1 kg

Yes

All countries/regions

Yes

Since the meat items in S/N 1 do not meet the requirements, the entire parcel will be detained.

Please visit the List of Food & Food Products Allowed to identify the types of food allowed from approved countries/regions and limits allowed.
