What is the appropriate attire or dress code if I am taking the GCE-Level examinations as a private candidate?

Updated by SEAB

As a private candidate, you should ensure that your attire is appropriate for a school/examination environment.

Male private candidates should be in shirt/collared t-shirts with jeans/long pants/trousers and should wear covered shoes. Female private candidates should be in sleeved tops and jeans/long pants with covered shoes or buckled sandals.

You should also ensure that your hair is neat and tidy, and dyed back to its natural colour before you sit for your examination. Male candidates should have short, well-groomed hair.

For Science Practical examinations, it is compulsory for candidates to wear covered shoes and jeans/long pants/trousers for safety reasons.
