The ScamShield app is specifically designed to work with Singapore phone numbers, protect against scams targeting Singapore and integrate with Singapore telco networks.

As a result, the ScamShield app's effectiveness will be limited outside of Singapore because:

1. Certain key features only work in Singapore:

   • The "Likely-SCAM" prefix for SMSes only works with Singapore telcos and businesses registered in Singapore

   • The ScamShield blocklist is focused on scam numbers targeting Singapore

   • The system is optimised for scams common in Singapore

      

2. Certain features may not work overseas:

   • Call blocking may be inconsistent

   • SMS filtering may not work as expected

    

For better protection in your region, we recommend:

• Using your local telco's anti-scam tools

• Checking if your country has similar anti-scam apps

• Following your local authority's security guidelines
