Why did PTC only reduce the prices of the concession passes of adults, workfare cardholders, seniors and persons with disabilities? What about students and full-time NSmen?
The prices of concession passes are periodically reviewed, taking into account, changes in the per-journey fares for the various commuter groups and the need for targeted help for particular groups. For FRE 2025, PTC will reduce the prices of monthly passes for adults and seniors by up to 5%, and notes that the Government will similarly reduce the prices of monthly passes for workfare transport concession cardholders and persons with disabilities. PTC will also maintain the prices for all other monthly passes.
Prices for hybrid monthly concession passes for primary students and secondary / polytechnic / ITE students are already the lowest across all monthly concession passes, at $39 and $49 respectively, which was lowered from $43.50 and $54 respectively in 2023. Hybrid monthly concession pass prices for university students and full-time national servicemen had also been reduced by 10% in 2023, from $90.50 to $81.
