The app reads your message notifications on your phone, and nothing else. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send it.

There are only two things that ever leave your phone, and both are your decision:

• a scam report, if you choose to submit one

• analytics, if you switch them on (they are off by default).

Everything else (your chats, your contacts, your message history) stays on your device.
