Parental consent is required for your child to participate in the MOE-OBS Challenge Programme. While it is voluntary, the experience is part of the school curriculum and an opportunity to interact with peers from within and outside of the school.

The MOE-OBS Challenge Programme is part of the school curriculum. For those who cannot be enrolled to MOE-OBS Challenge Programme (with valid reasons), they will attend school as usual during the course week. Parents may reach out to the school to find out about the arrangement.

The school will prepare the students physically, mentally, and emotionally through the conduct of Outdoor Education (OE) lessons and Pre-course Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) lesson. Following the programme, a post-course CCE lesson is also conducted to help students consolidate their learning and establish new goals and directions.

The MOE-OBS Challenge Programme consists of 3-part, before-OBS lessons, the OBS component and post-course lessons taught by school teachers. The OBS course is led by OBS Instructors. It is designed to ensure achievement of learning outcomes and transfer of learning to other areas of the student’s life. Students are not graded for performance but are encouraged to work on goals they set for themselves.

Parents do not need to pay a fee for the OBS course. With effect from 2021, the MOE-OBS Challenge Programme will be fully funded by MOE.

Students who require the tetanus vaccination will pay for the vaccination.
