The English and Mother Tongue Language teachers bring students to the library as part of the school’s effort to inculcate a love for reading.
To further instill the habit of reading, the English Language department implements a class- based reading programme where English teachers and students share about the books they have read. Each class also has a book box with a wide selection of books for students to borrow.
Enrichment modules, which take place on Wednesdays during curriculum time, have been specially curated for our lower primary students. Our two-year enrichment programme aims to develop our lower primary students to be Lively, Eloquent, Assured, Positive & ready to Soar (New Town L.E.A.P.S.!). Some of the modules offered include Coding, Speech and Drama and 7 Habits - ‘Leader in Me’.
The school offers Higher Chinese for Primary 3 to Primary 6 students with strong aptitude and interest.
Currently the school offers Higher Malay Language to Primary 3, Primary 5 and Primary 6 students. In 2024, we will be offering Higher Malay Language to Primary 4 students.
