What changes are being made to My Legacy on 4 January 2027, and what do I need to do?
We’re making changes to My Legacy to strengthen data security and ensure that information in your dashboard remains current and reliable.
What is changing?
My Legacy will discontinue the storage of personal information and funeral plans. This includes information such as important documents, financial accounts, bills and payments, properties, vehicles and digital accounts.
We are also working towards retrieving will-storage details directly from the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) Wills Registry, so that you have access to the most updated information. During this period, you will not be able to store or update will details in My Legacy.
What will happen to information I have already stored?
On 4 January 2027, all personal information, will records and funeral plans stored in My Legacy will be permanently deleted.
After this date, these records will no longer be accessible to you or any Trusted Persons you have shared them with.
Your Advance Care Plan, CPF nomination and Lasting Power of Attorney are not affected. These will continue to be synced to your account, and Trusted Persons you have shared them with will continue to have access.
What do I need to do before 4 January 2027?
If you have personal information or a funeral plan stored in My Legacy:
Download the information you wish to keep for your own reference and find an alternative way to store it securely.
If you have a will record stored in My Legacy:
Consider depositing your will record with the SAL Wills Registry for secure and up-to-date storage. Fees apply.
If someone has shared information with you as a Trusted Person:
You will no longer have access to the affected information after 4 January 2027. Please speak to the person who shared the information with you to ensure you stay updated.
Why is My Legacy making these changes?
Information that is manually entered into My Legacy may become outdated over time. Users may also keep copies elsewhere, which can make it unclear which version is the most current.
By discontinuing features that rely on manually entered information, we can strengthen data security and help ensure that information shown in My Legacy remains current and reliable.
