What changes are being made to My Legacy on 4 January 2027, and what do I need to do?
From 4 January 2027, My Legacy will no longer store personal information, funeral plans and will records entered by users. Any information stored in these sections will be permanently deleted and can no longer be retrieved by you or your Trusted Persons.
If you wish to keep this information, please download it before 4 January 2027.
What do I need to do?
If you wish to keep your information:
Log in to your My Legacy dashboard and download the personal information, funeral plans or will records you wish to keep.
You can decide how to store the downloaded information and whether to share it with your loved ones or intended representatives.
If you no longer need the information:
No action is required. The affected information will be automatically deleted on 4 January 2027. You may also delete it yourself before then.
If someone has shared information with you as a Trusted Person:
You will no longer have access to the affected information after 4 January 2027. You may wish to check with the person who shared it if you need continued access.
What information is affected?
The changes affect:
Personal information: Including details of important documents, financial accounts, bills and payments, properties, vehicles and digital accounts.
Funeral plans: Funeral wishes and arrangements entered in My Legacy.
Will records: Details of where your will is kept, which you have entered in My Legacy.
If you wish to maintain a record of where your will is kept, you may consider the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) Wills Registry. Fees apply.
We are also working towards retrieving will-storage information directly from the SAL Wills Registry through My Legacy, instead of requiring users to maintain a separate record.
What information will remain available?
Your Advance Care Plan, CPF nomination and Lasting Power of Attorney are not affected. These will continue to be accessible through My Legacy. Existing access arrangements for Trusted Persons to these records will remain unchanged.
Why is My Legacy making these changes?
My Legacy aims to help citizens plan ahead by providing guidance on important life and legacy planning matters, and bringing together information from official and established sources.
Rather than storing personal plans and information entered and maintained by users, My Legacy will focus on helping citizens access trusted information and services for their planning needs.
You can continue to keep and manage your personal plans independently, and decide how best to store or share them with your loved ones or intended representatives.
