Wasiat follows specific Islamic inheritance rules:

• You can only distribute up to one-third of your estate through a Wasiat.

• This portion can only go to non-Faraid beneficiaries, who are not already entitled to inherit under Islamic law (for example, adopted children, non-Muslim family members, or charities).

• The remaining two-thirds of your estate must be distributed according to Faraid rules, as per the Inheritance Certificate issued by Syariah Court.

In contrast, non-Muslims can use civil wills to distribute their entire estate to anyone they choose, whether individuals or organisations.
