I am not the next‑of‑kin and cannot prove my relationship with the deceased. How can I urgently apply for a burial or cremation permit?
If you are not the next‑of‑kin (NOK), you may still apply for a burial or cremation permit if the deceased’s NOK authorizes you to do so.
In such cases, you will need a Letter of Authorisation (LOA) from the deceased’s next‑of‑kin. The LOA template is available here.
Please submit the completed LOA together with your application via NEA’s e‑portal.
If you encounter issues with the submission and the issue is not resolved within 24 hours, please contact MyLegacy at go.gov.sg/edc for assistance.
