Does my Donee need to accompany me when I have my Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) certified?

There is no requirement for the Donee(s) to be present when the Certificate Issuer (CI) witnesses and certifies on the LPA. However, some CIs may prefer that the Donee(s) are present so that the CI can explain the Donee’s duties to them. Hence, it would be best for Donors to check with the CI beforehand.
