What is HCA?
HALAL COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT (HCA) is an assessment to recognise individuals' Halal competency as part of the requirement for MUIS Halal Certification. Upon passing the HCA, the individual will be awarded with HCA Certificate. MANDATORY REFRESHER REQUIREMENT - HCA Certificate is only valid for 5 years. Subsequently, personnel will be required to attend and pass the HCA again to be deemed competent.
Previously, personnel will have to undergo the Halal Foundation Programme (HFP) to satisfy the MUIS Halal Certification Condition (HCC). Effective April 2023, the assessment portion of the training will be replaced by HCA. HCA will be the only form of assessment to satisfy the HCC.
