Is it permissable to create Wakaf with movable, liquid assets instead of immovable assets?

While wakaf was traditionally established in the form of land, properties and other types of immovable assets, there are no objections from the Islamic law perspective against establishing wakaf in movable liquid assets, e.g., cash form.
