Teachers must have received formal training in Islamic religious knowledge. Many of the teachers are graduates of established Islamic learning institutions such as Al-Azhar University and the International Islamic University of Malaysia. As part of aLIVE teacher development, teachers also receive training and guidance on implementing the aLIVE curriculum, engaging students in learning Islam, designing lessons, managing student behaviour and assessing students for learning.
