What is Government-Paid Childcare Leave (GPCL) and Extended Childcare Leave (ECL)?
GPCL and ECL are leave schemes that support eligible working parents in caring for and spending quality time with their children. Eligible parents include self-employed persons, adoptive parents, foster parents, step-parents, and legal guardians.
What is the entitlement for GPCL and ECL?
Your entitlement depends on the age of your youngest child:
Youngest child below 7 years old: Up to 6 days of GPCL per year, capped at 42 days per child in total.
Youngest child between 7 and 12 years old: 2 days of ECL per year, capped at 12 days per child in total.
