Will both parents' and employers' agreement be required to change the Sharing Arrangement (SA) for Shared Parental Leave (SPL)?
It depends on when the change is made.
Within the first 4 weeks of the child's date of birth or Formal Intent to Adopt (FIA) date:
Both parents must discuss and agree on any changes to the SA. Once agreed, either parent can update the arrangement on LifeSG. If no arrangement is submitted within the first 4 weeks, the default arrangement applies and SPL is split equally between both parents.
After the first 4 weeks of the child's date of birth or FIA date:
In addition to both parents' agreement, the employer's agreement is also required. When updating the SA on LifeSG, proof of the employer's agreement must be uploaded.
