Can an employer be reimbursed for the Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) granted earlier than 28 days before the date of delivery?

Updated by MSF

No. Under the Child Development Co-Savings Act (CDCA), GPML can only commence within the period starting 28 days before the date of delivery up to the date of delivery itself. Any maternity leave granted outside of this stipulated period will not be reimbursed by the Government, even if supported by a medical memo from a doctor.
