Can I appeal for backdating if my initial Student Care Financial Assistance (SCFA) application is rejected?

No. If a parent applies for SCFA to start in January 2026 and MSF rejects the application in December 2025 due to missing documents, there will not be a backdate of SCFA to January 2026 if the parent submits a fresh SCFA application only in February 2026. The extended six-month application window is designed to provide sufficient time for application processing and appeals.
