Why is the Government expanding the coverage of the Matched Retirement Savings Scheme (MRSS) to Singaporeans with disabilities below age 55?
From 1 January 2026, MRSS will be expanded to include younger Singaporeans with disabilities to give them a greater boost for retirement by helping them to start building up their retirement savings earlier via cash top-ups to the CPF Special Account (SA).
Eligible persons with disabilities can receive a dollar-for-dollar matching grant of up to $2,000/year, with a lifetime limit of $20,000 from the Government on cash top-ups received in their CPF SA. Persons with disabilities will need to register as a person with disability and will still be subject to other MRSS eligibility criteria such as CPF balances, monthly income and Annual Value of their residential property. More details on how to register as a person with disability will be released in the second half of 2025.
