What types or levels of disability fall within the definition of persons with disabilities? Would the definition of persons with disabilities for the Matched Retirement Savings Scheme (MRSS) differ from that of other disability support schemes?
The MRSS will take reference from the Enabling Masterplans which define “persons with disabilities” as those with substantially reduced prospects of securing, retaining places and advancing in education and training institutions, employment and recreation, due to physical, intellectual, and sensory impairments, and autism.
Disability support schemes and services, such as the Workfare Income Supplement scheme, are guided by this definition, to channel support to those who most need it.
More details on how to register as a person with disability will be released in the second half of 2025.
