My parent has demanded 10% of my salary as his maintenance because he said that I earn a lot. Can he do that?

The Maintenance of Parents Act (MPA) only allows your parent to claim for his basic expenses like food, accommodation, medical and transport. The amount claimed is generally not tied to children's salaries although it is a factor to consider.
