My spouse and I are Singaporeans. My baby was born overseas, would he be eligible for Baby Bonus?
For a child who is born overseas to be eligible for Baby Bonus, they must obtain Singapore Citizenship before joining the Baby Bonus Scheme. You can apply for Singapore citizenship through the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
Once your child has been granted Singapore citizenship, you can apply for Baby Bonus for your child at LifeSG web or app.
To check your child’s eligibility for Baby Bonus, you can use "Check your child’s eligibility" on LifeSG.
It will take around 2 weeks to process your application. However, it may take longer if we need additional documents to support your application. Our officers will contact you for the supporting documents, if required. You will receive a notification from LifeSG when your child is enrolled.
